Hi, my name’s Ryan. I’m 29 years old and I’m a software engineer for PBwiki! I just moved back to San Francisco after a year in Seattle where I was working for Amazon.com. Before that, I was here in California where I completed a master’s degree in Computer Science at Stanford University, studying Human-Computer Interaction.
Last summer, I went on a European vacation after I finished graduate school. Over the course of about two weeks, I visited Cologne, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Zurich, and Geneva. I travelled with my friends Cristian and Kevin and had an awesome time. Check out our great photos!

I have a sister named Allison, and parents named Robert and Barbara. My parents live in Bettendorf, Iowa, which is also where I grew up. Allison is a teacher and just moved to Las Vegas with her fiancé, Tyrone. Allison and Tyrone got engaged last July!
I moved to California in 2006 after living in the Washington, D.C. area for 9 years. When I lived in Washington, I attended The George Washington University as an undergrad and then worked in Washington for a few years as a computer software developer.
I like music and long walks on the beach.
Actually, I really like music — mostly rock music. I own a Roland keyboard, and I’d love to pick up a drum set, but my neighbors probably wouldn’t appreciate that. Some of my favorite artists include Rush, Dream Theater, Kevin Gilbert, Porcupine Tree, and Laughing Colors. If you want to know more about my musical tastes, you can see my personal music profile which summarizes what I’ve been listening to recently on iTunes and my iPod.
I’ve taken up running recently, and actually enjoy it quite a bit! I started running last May, and ran a couple of 5K races last year. I’d love to meet some new running partners in Daly City or South San Francisco.
I also watch a fair amount of TV — maybe not a lot, but there are some really fascinating shows out there. My favorite show is Lost.
I used to be a big hockey fan, rooting for the Quad City Mallards and then the Washington Capitals. But I haven’t followed hockey as closely in recent years, especially since they cancelled an entire season because of a contract dispute.
That’s all for now. What else would you like to know?
