I am from India and it occurred to me that starting a web 2.0 site may not be such a bad idea. The number of internet users is rising and sites like myspace, orkut etc (personally I don’t use orkut myself ) are a big hit. Ive been thinking about sites like digg and myspace. The important thing is it should be low cost and not take too much time. Some open source web 2.0 software deployed on my ISP’s webserver and Iam good to go sort of thing. After that I could spare maybe an hour every day for the site.

What makes Tumblr interesting is that it gives you almost nothing that existing blog software doesn’t offer. The entire value of the service seems wrapped up in the toolbar which is presented to you when you want to post.
