Caffeine play

For some reason I just found a link to a one-act play supposedly written by the Mormon church. It’s called “They Serve Coca-Cola in Hell — Caffeine: The Choice of an Evil and Corrupt Generation.” It contains the following:

  • At the beginning, this quote explaining what’s going on: Two Mormons enter a 7-Eleven 24-hour convenience store. For the sake of this dramatization, they both happen to be carrying a vast library of authoritative gospel works, medical journals, some Church periodicals and a few LDS themed telejournalism transcripts.
  • A 14-page one-act play containing the words “ass” (twice), “damn” (twice), “hell” (5 times), and “frickin” (once).
  • 14 footnotes with citations to other sources if you’re interested.
  • And, a question/answer session with Donny Osmond regarding his views on Mormons and soft drinks.

What the fuck?

CBN

In the beginning, there was the Christian Broadcasting Network. CBN became The Family Channel, which became Fox Family Channel, which was sold to Disney and is now ABC Family. Tonight they were showing The Birdcage which, in addition to encouraging other “sinful activity”, lampoons a Moral Majority-like organization. Pat Robertson must be spinning in his, errr, house.

The Transformers video

Last night I had dinner with a group of old coworkers from Prometheus — it was great to catch up with them. This morning Dan sent me a video for old Transformers fans.
